Lake Tahoe's Premier Snowmobile Rental & Guide Service
SERVICES
Guided Backcountry Ride
One or Two full days of fun, riding one or two of lake Tahoe's gorgeous sled zones. Work with your instructor ahead of time to select your riding zones, gather your backcountry gear and get ready to see the best scenery you could possibly imagine. Our instructors have been sledding around Lake Tahoe for 12 + years and know all the hidden gems and best lines. Don't have your own snowmobile? No problem! We have a small fleet of top of the line snowmobiles available for rent. See our Snowmobile Rentals Page for further information.
You will meet your guide at a pre-determined location each morning depending on which zone you select, gear up, and head out on the road. You will be out on snow for 8-10 hours, so please come prepared with proper waterproof snow gear, layers, boots, gloves, helmet, avalanche pack (including your beacon, shovel, and probe), and a sack lunch. If you do not have an avalanche pack, we have those available for rent so do not fret!
For this service, you must be of intermediate or higher skill level on backcountry mountain terrain. If you are a beginner or have never been on a snowmobile, check out our Learn to Ride Clinics and Private Lessons!

2-Day Learn To Ride Clinic
Never been on a mountain snowmobile? New to riding and want to progress quickly? Feel like your sled is fighting you instead of you controlling it? This riding clinic is for you! Whether you are brand new to the sport or have been riding but are struggling to nail down the basic fundamentals, our amazing instructors will help boost your confidence and ensure you will be on your way to having safe, fun adventures in the backcountry.
These clinics will begin with an overview of avalanche safety knowledge and the key features of your sled. You will then progress on to some fundamental skills including how to load and unload your sled from your vehicle or trailer, how to ride and handle your sled on a hard packed road, how to handle riding in powder, making turns, and getting your sled up "on edge". Depending on your skill level and confidence, you will move on to more intermediate skills, such as riding "wrong foot forward", side-hilling, hill climbing, and a few other tips and tricks.
These clinics will be offered 6 times over the course of the winter, and you will get to experience some of the world's most beautiful backcountry snowmobile terrain in a safe, fun environment. These clinics are capped at 5 students to ensure ample attention and time with your instructor.
No prior riding skill is necessary to join this course, though you will be required to carry an avalanche pack including a beacon, shovel, and probe. If you do not have avalanche safety gear, we do have these available for rent so do not fret.
Lastly, you will be out on the snow for 8-9 hours per day, so come prepared with proper waterproof snow gear, boots, layers, gloves, helmet, plenty of water, and lunch/snacks.
Don’t have your own sled yet? No problem, we have a small fleet of top of the line snowmobiles available for rent for this program. See our Snowmobile Rentals page for further information.
